I have known Nichole & her family for a while now, I think since Joey (#3) was born and was thrilled to be included in the plans for baby #6’s birth.  All along we thought that baby would be born on a Tuesday before his due date, but he proved us wrong!  Babies like to do that don’t they!  So on his due date (who would have guessed that one!) Wednesday, May 26th I headed up to their house hoping that I would have time to capture labor and delivery for them.  Thanks baby for waiting on me!

I arrived with Nichole in active labor already in the tub and working hard, transition seemed to come pretty quickly once I got there.  Funny how I always get there in time for them to tell us that they don’t want to do this anymore!

Things started moving quickly once she started pushing, and at 6:03 pm he arrived born in the caul into his daddy’s hands.  With us all looking on, his big sisters and brothers got to see him arrive!  It was a special moment and I am honored to have been a part of it!

I think I love home births for the peacefulness of it all and letting nature lead.  Watching the kids look and touch their new brother was so special.  I think Bella took as many pictures as I did of him.  I can’t wait to see hers!

After a while of bonding with mom and dad, he had his first check up and we found out that he weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces!  I loved watching the kids watch the midwife checking out their brother.

As of this moment his name has not been revealed and I will wait patiently as they pick the best one for him!  I look forward to seeing the family next week and taking their fist family portrait as a family of 8!

Here are some of my favorite images to enjoy!

Congrats again Nichole, Scott, Bella, Sophie, Joey, Lilly & Roman on your new arrival!  I’ll see you all next week!

Well lots of things, really! But in this case, they come help you try out some ideas and pose for you! Amy and I have been friends for a long time now. If you’ve been following us for a while you may recognize her as we’ve been photographing her kids and family for many years. The kids are growing up and it’s way past time she had a session for herself! She is also the artist behind Crazy Daisy Cards that some of my upcoming clients will be receiving.

Amy is beautiful inside and out and I am glad I get to show you the beautiful side of this great lady. She rocked Vintage Vixen and Curvy Girl… Thanks Amy for coming to play and for giving me the giggles and I can’t wait to show you (and Jim) the rest including some of the out-takes! Enjoy!!!

One of the things we love to do when we have the opportunity, is work with models to develop their portfolios.  Brittney came to us wanting to add to her portfolio so we were happy to help!  Brittney was great to work with and we were excited to have Chastity, one of our favorite hair/makeup artists working with us on the shoot.  The session took a vintage theme and we had fun playing “dress up” in some of the new additions to the prop closet.  Brittney brought the cutest swimsuit with her for the session and now I need to add some more summer props as we loved the idea of the bright swimsuit!

Here are some of our favorite images from the session!  We can’t wait to work with her again!  We plan on doing engagement portraits for her as soon as the weather warms up!

My friend, Crystal is expecting a baby quite soon and I got the chance to document her pregnancy. I met Crystal through the Georgia Birth Network a number of years ago and have enjoyed getting to know her a bit more through the session. She was willing to let me play a bit and work on some more artistic images and I am very happy with the session and hope that she and her family love the images as much as I do. Here are a few of my favorites from the session…
