Bianca & Mario were married at the Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta. The day was full of fun and special moments and even a few surprises! The girls started the day getting ready at the Biltmore with lots of giggles, makeup and hairspray while the guys enjoyed hanging out at the Mariott before heading over. My favorite getting ready moment was Bianca’s Dad watching her put make up on and his commentary on watching her put on makeup as she was growing up.

The ceremony started with a sand ceremony followed by Mario & Bianca making promises to Bianca’s daughter Tiana. She both laughed and cried and you could tell how much it meant to all of them. After the ceremony Mario surprised Bianca by singing to her which she was totally surprised by!

We were so glad to have some alone time with them to get some fabulous photos featuring the wonderful surroundings! I think I have a new favorite image from this session (actually 5 or 6 or 100)

The wedding party made their entrance into the reception like a sports team which was lots of fun! More favorite moments from the reception had to be Bianca’s Dad bringing Mario a tissue during the Mother-Son Dance and Mario’s face when he saw Bianca’s garter and shoes during the garter toss.

All in all it was a wonderful day and we hated to see it end. We hope the couple had as much fun as we did and got some time to unwind while in Antigua for their honeymoon. We hope you enjoy some of our favorites from the wedding.

We also made them a slideshow of highlights so sit back (and have some tissues handy) and enjoy!

Nicki & Satyam Engaged

Last weekend, I had the honor of photographing Nicki and Satyam’s Engagement ceremony on a beautiful Saturday in Chattanooga.  We first met with Nicki and Satyam a few weeks back when they had traveled to Chattanooga to attend a wedding and we hit it off immediatelly.  After talking with them by phone and email, and finally getting to meet, we knew their bubbly personalities would be a great match up for us!

We started the day with a short engagement style session down by the River.  Nicki and Satyam were already dressed for their engagement ceremony, which was great since we got the whole session with them dressed in their traditional outfits.  The morning was crisp and windy, but that did not stop us from getting some great shots in the park, at the carousel, and a few other spots along the way.

We then headed down to East Ridge for the ceremony with family.  Once everyone arrived, the celebrations started with the religious ceremony, followed by gift exchanges, the ring ceremony, cake cutting, and dinner.  Of course there was plenty of time for family pictures and time to just talk and get to know more about their families.  We really enjoyed meeting everyone and being honored to photograph this very special event for Nicki and Satyam!

Nicki and Satyam, we hope you like this little preview of your pictures and can not wait to show you the rest!  I would also like to thank Amber Jennings, who 2nd shot with me on this while Cat was attending another, previously scheduled event.  If you would like to see these full screen, start the slideshow and then mouse over the picture and the controls should pop up so you can change the size.  Enjoy!

It seems like forever since we showed you Erin and Kevin’s beautiful ceremony back in part 1 of this post! Now, after our blog-slackiness of late, we are excited to present you with part 2, the reception. Held at the beautiful Marietta Country Club, their reception was a party to behold! Adorned with beautiful decorations, great food and drink, and lots of family and friends, this was a grand celebration in style! The evening began with cocktail hour to the sounds of the string quartet while we were finishing up pictures with the happy couple at the church. Upon our arrival, the couple immediately went into their first dance followed by father-daughter and mother-son dances. With speaches to the happy couple and then dinner, the evening progressed with the sounds of the fabulous 10:30 Band belting out dance tune after dance tune to a packed dance floor. It seemed there were celebrations in every corner, with cigars and toasts, cake cutting, boquet toss, garter toss, and more dancing, the party continued at full throttle! We had heard that Kevin and some of his friends have a rock band called Royal Blue and the Stone Grifters, so one highlight of the evening was when the 10:30 Band turned over their instruments to Kevin and his band mates who rocked the dance floor with some great southern rock tunes from the Allman Brothers and others. As the hours passed, it was finally time for the grand exit. As family and friends fired up the sparklers, Erin and Kevin took the dash to the limo for a short night before heading out on their honeymoon to a sunny, warm, beach destination!

Erin and Kevin, we hope you enjoy this second part of your celebration, and would like to thank you for having us hang with you for your special day!

We first met Erin and her mom way back in January as Erin was leaving to return to college.  When we shot their engagement session this spring, we finally got to meet Kevin and see what a great couple they were together!  So spring forward to late July, and it is finally time for their wedding at St. James Episcopal Church in Marietta.  We were not sure what surprises the day would bring, but we were there to capture what ever happened.

We started the day at Erin’s mom’s house where all the girls were getting hair and makeup done.  This was probably one of the most fun “getting ready” events we have been to, as the laughter and jokes just kept coming!  This wedding has plenty of details, but I loved this big magnolia bloom that Erin was wearing in her hair!  As noon arrived, I headed over to Simpatico on Marietta Square where Kevin and all the guys were having lunch. Kevin had gifts for all the guys, and there were plenty of toasts to the lucky groom!  As the afternoon wound down, we all headed to the church to finish getting ready and start the group and family pictures before the 7:30 ceremony. The day was very hot and humid, so melting outside before the ceremony was limited to just a few outdoor shots. The schedule was tight, and we were all rocking and rolling in high gear for a while!

As it came time for the ceremony, anticipation was high and the church was filled with family and friends.  I thought it was great that Erin was going to be escorted down the isle by her Dad and Step Dad.  The church has fairly strict photography rules, but I was quite pleased at the shots we were able to get from the balcony and through the crack in the back doors!  The ceremony was gorgeous, and as the ceremony ended, Erin and Kevin exited the sanctuary as husband and wife!  So as this part of the day ended, we will wait and present their reception in Part 2.

Erin and Kevin, we hope you enjoy this first preview of your day, and we cant wait to show you more soon!

Enjoy!
